As the millennium approached, a spark ignited the interest of Mitch and Kricket Ingerson. They traveled far and wide in pursuit to fulfill that what intrigued them so, Sled Dogs!
First to Alaska, then Montana, purchasing the best hybrids in the business.
Today that spark has become a roaring flame. The Ingersons named their new passion: Nevahome Kennels.
More dogs were purchased and pups were born. The Kennel continues to grow in all the right directions. The Ingersons are committed to providing their K-9 athletes with the best of care. The dogs have a great health plan, the best of diets, housing and training.
The combination of good genectics, exercise and a strong work ethic have made Nevahome Kennels the team to beat!
Growing up in North Carolina, Matt Carstens never saw a dog sled or a dog team, Rarely ever saw snow! Then in 1994, Matt read James Michner's Novel, Alaska. Living in Daytona Beach, Florida at the time, the novel so inspired Matt, that he hopped in his pick-up truck and drove nearly 6,000 miles to the Last Frontier, where dog mushing is the state sport. In 1996, back in the lower forty-eight, Matt bought a husky, then another and soon he had a yard full! In 2001, Mitch Ingerson offered Matt a job, dog handler, a dream job! Dog Mushing has now become a lifestyle for Matt and he enjoys it that way.
The future of Nevahome Kennels begins with setting goals. We carefully prioritize and set our plans into action! Our goal is to breed happy, healthy, durable dogs capable of covering miles and miles of trail.
